Privacy policy
You can read China Trip Brief without creating an account or joining a newsletter. We collect personal information only when you choose to submit a trip-planning request or contact us directly.
Information you provide
A trip-planning request may include your name, email address, travel dates, group size, trip length, destinations and the kind of help you want. The form also records the page that led to the request and may record campaign parameters included in the page URL. Those attribution details may be kept in session storage until you close the browser tab. Do not send passport numbers, payment details or other sensitive documents.
How inquiry details are used
We use the information to review, route and respond to your request. With the consent given in the form or WhatsApp message, China Trip Brief may share the request with a travel-planning partner who can contact you about the route or service you selected. A trip-planning request is not a newsletter subscription.
Service providers
Our hosting provider processes technical request data needed to operate and protect the website. Email delivery is handled through Google's Gmail service. If you choose WhatsApp, your message is handled under WhatsApp's own privacy terms.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which guides visitors read and how they arrive at the website. Google may process information such as page views, referral or campaign details, approximate location, device and browser information, and interactions with the site. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar device identifiers depending on your browser and region. You can limit this processing through your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Google explains how it handles this information in its privacy policy.
Retention and your choices
Inquiry details are kept only as long as reasonably needed to handle the request, prevent abuse and maintain necessary business records. You can ask us to stop contacting you or request deletion of inquiry details by emailing editorial@chinatripbrief.com. We may retain limited information when required for security, legal or record-keeping purposes.
Changes
We will update this policy before enabling a materially different use of personal information or adding another marketing or analytics service.
